Apparently there's a video of Stuart sobbing about something linked from here.

"Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy Are Under Attack":
The past few days Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy have been hit with tons of phone calls from rabid Bushites, much more than normal. I have to wonder if we are hitting some sort of turning point. With the onslaught of stories finally making it to the MSM (Dr. Rice's lies being exposed, the 37 soldiers killed, the ever-rising budget deficit, etc. etc.), it seems like the Bush supporters are feeling "boxed in" and are trying to make themselves feel better by going on the attack. Perhaps the tide is finally about to turn?
"Is Randi Rhodes being Freeped?"
Every other caller seems to be some Right Wingnut screamer.
I think there is some sort of plan to bombard her phone lines today.
Notes to members #342, #9432, and #103229: begin plan Shortcakes. I repeat, Shortcakes. End transmission.

From the oddly titled "Liberals retreat to alternative ball":
There were no cowboy hats, no cowboy boots. The only fur coat on the rack was a fake one. While 50,000 revelers celebrated Thursday night at nine official balls across the city, a couple hundred people chose the company of fellow liberals at an "Alternative Inaugural Ball" downtown...
Comedian and radio show host Al Franken was one of the star draws for the evening.
"People are saying, 'You know, it's not so bad,'" Franken said, referring to President Bush's re-election. "It's terrible!" [I think that's one of his jokes -- LW]
Franken mocked Bush's inauguration speech's call to support freedom around the world, saying the United States supports allies like Uzbekistan that repress their people.
He also challenged Bush's high ground on values, particularly concerning the war in Iraq.
"What is the morality of going to war on false premises?" said Franken, who is mulling a challenge to Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., in 2008.
Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., said progressives must make the case that Bush's policies are hurting minorities, gays and poor and working people...
365gay gives this AP report the title "Barney Frank: Gays & Poor To Feel Effects Of New Bush Term". What, they forgot the minorities?
This or a similar "party" is described in "Counter-inaugural balls ease pain for some Dems". Stuart makes an appearance there as well.
And, in somewhat related news, "Franken-rats thrive on chips".

From the WSJ:
Today's inauguration of President George W. Bush may depress many Democrats, who had hoped to take back the White House this year. But at Air America, the upstart liberal radio network, there's at least some cause for celebration.
Coinciding with the presidential ceremonies, Air America will launch its brash Bush-bashing talk-radio format onto the airwaves in President Bush's backyard -- Washington, D.C. -- as well as Detroit and Cincinnati, bringing its total nationwide reach to 45 markets...

BRATTLEBORO -- After years of airing conservative radio talk shows, program directors at a local AM station have decided to spin the dial towards the left.
Starting next week, listeners tuning into WKVT-AM 1490 will hear an all-new lineup of daytime programming taken from Air America Radio, a progressive talk network.
"This is basically going exactly from the right to the left," said Peter Case, the station's program director.
Ushered out the door will be the Rush Limbaugh Show, Bill O'Reilly's Radio Factor, the Howie Carr Show, the Clark Howard Show and the Lars Larson Show.
"We're in a liberal area and here you've got all these right wingers on the air," Case said about the shakeup. "It was just something we felt needed to be done."
P.S. Brattleboro is in Vermont. I forget exactly where it is in Vermont, but it's somewhere there.
