Al Franken wows them in Austin!

A few weeks ago, "Kazim" paid a visit to a live broadcast of the Stuart Smalley Show in Austin, TX. Kazim started lining up for the broadcast at 8AM. By 10AM the theater was only 2/3 full. Apparently (this is just my supposition here) this was caused by the VRWC bosses making sure that their wage slaves were at work at that time. Otherwise, thousands of Austinites would have no doubt welcomed Al Franken to their town.

Kazim passed out Bibles in a satirical comic book format. His other line mates welcomed the heretical texts.

Kazim also informs us that Al Franken did some prop comedy. Is there no field that Stuart has not mastered?

I doubt he will come to Dallas. Our local hosts would eat him alive. Besides, the only way you can hear the show here is if you wrap you head in tin foil and hold wire hangers in right hand and touch the radio with your left.

Small correction: The "heretical Bible comic books" were created and published by Christians. They were supposed to be some sort of witnessing tool for teens. They were quite hilarious, but not intentionally so.

Anyway, thanks for the trackback, and BTW, it seems that gregd was wildly off base when he reckoned Franken wouldn't come to Dallas. From what I heard of that show, he got quite a warm reception.
