Blogger Verdict: Citizen Verdict sucks

There's a new film out featuring Jerry Springer entitled "Citizen Verdict". Summary here. They've even got their own site for the movie, complete with a form into which you can enter your email address for some reason. The plot actually mimics an idea I had many years ago, in which an audience could act as a jury and decide whether an alleged criminal is guilty and then pass sentence, including executing them. Now compare that with the plot of Citizen Verdict:
Springer plays reality TV producer Marty Rockman, whose latest project allows viewers to hear evidence in a high-profile capital murder case, decide the defendant's guilt or innocence, then watch the execution on pay-per-view television.
And, from the same source:
As a film critic, there isn't much here to like. As someone who loves movies, I couldn't stop enjoying the determined way Citizen Verdict aims low and hits the target.
Fly to Tampa and catch it quick before the only place you can find it is in the DVD remainder bin at the Pascagoola KMart.
