According to Air America Radio founder Sheldon Drobny, both Al Gore and Bill "Bubba" Clinton got personally involved in helping raise funds to start AAR:
"They helped us... How they helped us was to make introductions to a lot of good people... Especially Al Gore, who introduced me to Al Franken... [Franken] was my dream franchise player when we first conceived of the [radio] idea. And Vice President Gore was very helpful in making the introductions..."
But, it didn't work out:
"They didn't bring any major funding to the table."
Maybe Gore could have introduced him to some Chinese monks.
As for the Air America scandal:
"That particular transaction occurred with the previous ownership... And I cannot legally talk about it although I'd love to. But that was not our loan, it was a loan to the previous owners."

Did anyone notice that Fathead Ed's flagship station has CRASHED in the ratings? From a 17.6 to a 13.7 to a 11.5! Fathead Ed and the rest of the Deadheads lost 1/3 of his audience. HAHAHAHAHA!

You gotta admire the guy's chutzpah. He's content to keep spinning the "previous owners" shtick as if he had nothing to do with Progressive, as if he and the investers known as AnShell sold their entire stake in the operation to Cohen, Sorenson and Walsh and washed their collective hands of the joint until Piquant appeared on the scene.
Which anyone paying attention back then knows to be pure hokum.
