I'm so excited I've already turned the sound down in expectation. On October 2, Janeane Garofalo begins her special guest stint on the West Wing television program.
"G-lo" plays Louise Thornton, a plucky, controversial, yet constantly well-meaning media strategist who fights for the people. Kinda like Karl Rove with a heart and a brain and smaller boobs. Jimmy "Jiminy" Smits (played by soap opera heartthrob Matt Santos) hires G-lo to conduct a media campaign, but he - mistakenly - believes the only way to win is to stretch the truth.
Needless to say, sparky Janeane realizes that the way to win is to tell the voters the truth: Fawn drowned after Jimmy forgot that she was in the trunk on the way back from a midnight meeting to collect Indian bingo payoffs with crooked lobbyist Jack Wenchell (played by Hollywood bad boy Dennis Woodruff). But, he did not spend the money on himself. He needed the money to fund an anti-war protest by the 'Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba and North Korea Committee for Peaceful Tomorrows and to Stop The War And End Racism United for Peace and Justice Associated Coalition March 5 Action', which was able to stop plans by Republican Senator Sam McSnight who wanted to conduct a war for oil and baby seal blubber profits on Canada and who was working with a reactionary spy inside the WestWing to try to undermine the election.
Needless to say, Louise Thornton/Janeane Garofalo's televised campaign is a huge success, and the Peace and Freedom Party triumphs magnificently and even earns notice from the President of the United States, Martin Sheen!
