On Friday, Sep. 2, on or about 3:46PM Pacific:
Randi Rhodes repeatedly urged listeners in hurricane ravaged areas to go right out and loot, arguing that poor people should be allowed to do so at will. She even advised her listeners to avoid discount centers like Wal-Mart and concentrate their looting on some of the higher-end stores so as to have access to higher quality stuff.
From here. Note that the person who heard this, Ned Rice, also says:
I'm not sure if Randi was joking or serious (although with her it's always hard to be sure), but even in jest should she be allowed to do this on the air?

This reminds me of the liberal-feminist reaction to the things Rush Limbaugh used to say in the early 90s -- his use of the inflammatory term "feminazi" (although he said it only applied to about a dozen women in the world), and his explanation of feminism as a way for ugly women to get ahead. Rush put himself on the map being outrageous. Randi is doing the same thing. There is now a 'rush' (no pun intended) to become to leftie talk what Rush has been to rightie talk. Rhodes is fighting tooth and nail with Ed Schultz and Jones who have pushed her show out of live clearance in many east coast markets. She has to stand out of the pack. This is one way to do it. It's the way Rush did it not so many years ago.

Well, at least she's not doing a female Howard Stern shtick - you know, have hunky men get naked in front of her. Sheesh, what humiliation. That would turn any man into a eunuch immediately.
