Speculation is still swirling around the blogosphere about Katherine Lanpher leaving Al Franken's show.
She left around September 30, saying she had to get a book out by January 2006.
Now, her publisher has extended the publication date of her book... until October 2006.
Did she or her publisher decide to extend the deadline, or was this the plan all along and the January deadline was just a face-saving excuse for one of the parties?
Pretty much everyone agrees that Stuart Smalley is even more annoying without her, even though some didn't like her mannerisms. Was this yet another bad move on AAR's part, or was "January 2006" just an excuse she used to flee the sinking ship?
Speculating...

That deal was shady from the start. Who quits a "great" job. To write a book?
Many radio hosts have written books without taking a leave of absense. To name a few: Howard Stern, Robin Quivvers, Don Imus, Rush, Hannity, Mark Levine, Chris "Mad Dog" Russo and Laura Ingram.
What's so special about Lampher?
AAR used the tight deadline as the excuse, but why the rush? Is the world really clamoring for a tell-all from Katherine Lampher?
It's just more shadiness from AAR.

It was always clear from listening that Katherine was annoyed by Franken. She was actually fairly reasonable, for a lefty, at least.
