Air America's OK!

If you read a The Nation article that starts out with this, what impression would you be under?

If you read the New York Sun or the New York Post, you might be under the impression that WLIB, Air America Radio's New York City affiliate, is going under.

Wouldn't you expect some facts to follow? Perhaps an auditor's statement? A statement from WLIB?

Well, not exactly. In fact, this is the only "evidence" presented:

Anyway, towards the end of the night, I asked Al about the rumors regarding Air America. "Look," he told me, "Bill O'Reilly alone has said that Air America was on the verge of collapse thirty-six times. We're not going anywhere."

We're supposed to take Al Franken's vague word for it? What exactly does "not going anywhere" mean anyway? If they leave WLIB for Secaucus or Newburgh, can't Al then say that they didn't really go anywhere? And, if that explanation doesn't fly, he could let fly with a chair.

The article also mention's Franken's Midwest Values PAC, but doesn't mention that it donated to "democratic socialist" Bernie Sanders.

In related news, there's a very scary closeup of Stuart here. I didn't read the accompaning article because the picture scared me too much.

How ironic that Franken manages to crank out book after book, but when HIS company is the story, he suddenly becomes a mute.

I can't wait until April 1.

You righties got nothing but failure after failure to show for your leadership. I don't blame you for wanting to talk about other things!

What the righties who run this site simply refuse to admit is that their media outlets and pundits are simply liars. Hannity is a liar. Limbaugh is a liar. Beck is a liar. Ingraham is a liar. Savage is a liar. They're all liars. Liberal talkers tell the truth. Apparently, for some Americans perhaps many Americans fiction is more compelling than fact.

Meta:

You've been listening to "storyland radio" way too much and need to move out of your parents' basement! It DOES mention Sanders prominently.

Why not focus your mental powers on such things as FOX and Limbaugh's defense of Bush's poll numbers? Isn't that more your area of expertise?

Actually chesswhiz, to be more specific Limbaugh is a drug addict, draft dodging liar whose been divorced 3 times. Yet the cons will bend over and grab their ankles for him and his ilk in a heartbeat.

Hey Cheezwiz, I'll take the ample amounts of truth, analysis and debate on conservative talk radio any day over the lies and hate that Airhead America spews into the atmosphere 24/7.

And Al Franken is an ADMITTED cocaine user...a coke snorting drug addict. One difference: Franken wants to run for public office. I look forward to him running.

Nice to see so many kool-aid drinking pot-banger libs have found this site. It will be entertaining.

Doesn't all of the rightwing speculation about Air America folding in NYC April 1st tell you something? Rightwingers can't get it right on the simplest of matters. Given the polls showing widespread dissatisfication with Bush and his war in Iraq, Americans have come to the realization that the Republicans and their "koolaid" pundits in the right of center media do not represent the interests of the country.

Dave,

Franken freely admitted his experimentation (not addiction) with coke during the Saturday Night Live years, while the draft dodger Limbaugh only came forward about his habit only after his houskeeper outed him. He had already swallowed so much oxycontin that his hearing was almost destroyed and would have kept right on with his habit. Like most regressives, he preaches about values but does not feel the need to live by his own sermons.

We could also get into the reasons circulated for his most recent divorce. It appears the paragon of values did not like his wife's kids from a previous marriage staying in his house. So why did he marry her to begin with? What did he expect? Just another arrogant regressive as far as I can tell.
