Randi Rhodes, Michael Savage, Ron Reagan: What is our ideology anyway?

Randi Rhodes, Michael Savage, and Ron Reagan are going to be conducting a panel discussion in Seattle on June 17 and trying to answer the question, "What Is a Progressive, Anyway?" Of course, this site prefers to think of the word "progressive" as just a euphemism for "socialists or useful idiots for them". Alternatively, "like liberals, but even more strident, self-righteous, and downright annoying." Of course, if Communists are liberals in a hurry, then progressives are laid-back Communists.

Anyway, the benefit is for Mother Jones magazine, and the tickets are obviously for those who are doing quite well by doing all the good they do: $27.50 base, with $35 for the ticket plus a one year subscription to Mother Jones Magazine.

And, if you want to attend the "pre-show reception with panelists, premier seating, and subscription", that'll be a cool Benjamin, comrade. It might be worth it, considering that "libations" will be served, and if someone can get Randi sloshed it should be quite entertaining.

The evening of edutainment will attempt to answer, among others, the following:

Who and what is a progressive?

Is there a coherent and compelling message capable of leading America toward a more just and humane society?

Who on the left is capable of articulating that message?

UPDATE: It has come to this site's attention that the guest is Dan Savage, not Michael Savage.

Shame about no Michael Savage, that would have been a way more interestng event. These three are okay but will just vary slightly in their agreements with each other.

Hmmm, my neocon dad called me a communist because of my blog and I'm not even that far to the left. Neocons think anyone who doesn't agree with them is a screaming liberal and/or communist. So maybe a progressive is anyone but them.
