Did Bush, Clear Channel conspire to fire Mike Malloy?

That's the question that liberals throughout the land are asking themselves today with the sad news that Air America Radio's late night host Mike Malloy has been fired. What clearer evidence do we need other than the gloating from the "Radio Equalizer"?

Current speculation from many in the liberal community is that Karl Rove and George Bush put pressure on Clear Channel to only put Air America on lower-wattage stations, leading to a vicious cycle of lower ratings. Together with talking up Al Franken leading to him being paid more, this led to the "financial decision" that Malloy says this was on his website.

But, AAR co-founder Sheldon Drobny has a different take:

He is the lowest paid of all the regular hosts on AAR and they put him in an awful time slot, 10pm-1am ET... I suspect Malloy's termination was more about personality than performance. It certainly was not about money...

"Personality"? Or... something else?

Sign the petition to bring Malloy back, save off the comments here before "they" delete them, and stay tuned to DU for all the late-breaking details on this conspiracy by the flying monkey right and the Bush crime family to silence America's leading truthseeker.

UPDATE: In comments, "Raccoon Radio" links to the quite curious piece "Air America Network in Turmoil". Of course, that article raises additional questions. Is Cliff Kincaid a Rove operative? Or... could he in fact be a Soros operative? What of Malloy himself? Should we assume complete innocence on his part? What if he is in fact an operative of the shadow government? Are there lists of truthseekers compiled somewhere? How do you know that Mike Malloy is not a turncoat to the cause? Could Rove operatives have arranged for former Lyndon LaRouche associate Webster Griffin Tarpley to appear on this show, then have a feigned "firing" by George Soros in order to make Malloy into a "martyr" of some sort in order to draw true truthseekers into a trap?

Comments

I just finisned listening to the last show on my favorite talk station 1600 wwrl, because in a few hours set1 air america will take away another black local talk station here in nyc and use it as it's flagship, I would have no problem with aar, but they are inclusive to the minority black/brown/yellow/poor white communities, it was former flagshi station wlib's hopes that aar would push the plite og minorities, that's inner city broadcasting got down with them in the first place, even gave them their wlib studios to launch their network from and be headquatered, and took off an already popular local talk format. But wlib got burned by aar because they weren't that liberial at all, now mike malloy is gone, mark riley on his way out felipe luciano nolonger news director for the network, and wayne gillmon probaly out too, what do most of those people have incommon? they all are black, the last black voice left on aar will be chuck d on a late sundaynight early morning, that's really liberial for ya don't ya think? and here i go again loosing another black local talk station to a bunch of liberials that act as if they were conservatives when reaching out to minority voices.

...or was it the Malloy-LaRouchie connection?

http://www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_27268094.shtml

"...The network is failing but there could be another factor behind the Malloy debacle. There is still fallout from Malloy’s recent decision to turn over two-and-a-half hours of his three hour show to a former associate of ex-con Lyndon LaRouche...The former high-level LaRouche associate, Webster Griffin Tarpley, was on the Malloy show to promote his view that unnamed U.S. officials carried out the attacks on 9/11 and blamed Muslims for the terrorist acts. But Tarpley went beyond this to suggest that leftist Noam Chomsky, a supporter of the Hezbollah terrorist group that attacked Israel, is a rich puppet of the U.S. military industrial complex and a tool of the Zionists. The hapless Malloy seemed to gobble it all up."

Apparently Tarpley's book is not too kind to AAR funder George Soros. The article goes on to say, "that Air America would air an interview with Tarpley at a time when it is angling for major cash from Soros was strange indeed. One has to conclude that it was a factor in Malloy’s ouster."

One post on Demo. Underground about Malloy's firing: "The Tarpley interview was
good radio. Mike kept Tarpley reined in pretty well. I find it hard to believe Soros would be pissed about something like that, let alone even know about it."

Man, some weird ass shit on this site. Talk about conspiracy theories!

Malloy told the truth and he did it with passion and conviction. This is why they axed him. The idea that they would ax Malloy and keep that fat ass liar Limbuerger cheese on the air makes a chill go down my spine and ironically, what is bearing out is EXACTLY what Malloy warned us about.

Got Fascism?

Mike Malloy is a great host. It's a damn shame he's gone.
