Jerry Springer dumps radio show; WSAI dumps lib talk?

This should come as no surprise: Jerry Springer is officially ending his failed, boring radio "career" this week. Only about two dozen Air America affiliates were still running it, and moreover WSAI (AM 1360) in Cincinnati - a Clear Channel station - may decide to dump liberal talk entirely:
[His] show and the station have rarely gotten over a one share and have consistently finished in the bottom third in the ratings out of some 30 area stations.
Don't cry for Jerry, America!
It may be the success of Springer's appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" that forced his hand. Springer has had several offers to appear in commercials, movies and TV shows since the country was exposed to the self-deprecating, kinder, gentler Jerry.

Springer, who has recorded two CDs, may even rejuvenate his tongue-in-cheek country singing career. Country singer Sara Evans, a fellow "Dancing With the Stars" contestant, has asked Springer to make appearances on stage during her upcoming tour.
While waiting for his next career move, enjoy this flashback. Who could be dumb enough to pay a prozzie with a check? Jerry Springer, that's who.

Gone in Boston? From Boston Globe

Spinning the dial
Fans of "Boston's Progressive Talk Radio" will have to find another outlet soon. Although Clear Channel representatives are not discussing details, the national radio group, which has been selling stations across the country, acknowledges that change is in the works for the two local AMs that carry Air America and related programming -- WXKS-AM (1430) and WKOX-AM (1200). Saying that details will be released within two weeks, Clear Channel vice president of programming "Cadillac Jack" McCartney acknowledged this week that changes are pending and that Air America "is history." . .

In Boston: they're already advertising for sales
staff at "Rumba 1200 and 1430" which will replace
Air America.

Boston Herald:
"Boston may soon have a new Spanish-language radio station as WKOX-AM drops its liberal talk format, sources said. The progressive talk currently heard on WKOX-AM (1200) and WXKS-AM (1430), including Air America Radio, is being dropped in favor of a Spanish-language format sometime in the beginning of next year, several sources said.

"WKOX and WXKS, which are owned by Clear Channel Communications, air syndicated talk shows from the Jones Radio Network and from the bankrupt Air America Radio network. Station officials confirmed the liberal talk format will be discontinued, but were mum on what will take its place.

"But sources with knowledge of the change said a Spanish-language format is in the works. The number of Spanish-language stations across the country has grown rapidly as programmers, led by Clear Channel, flip to Spanish formats. Clear Channel has reportedly launched Spanish stations in 28 markets since 2004.

"The change in format comes as Clear Channel plans to boost WKOX’s power to 50,000 watts. Right now the station simulcasts on WKOX, which can only reach 10,000 watts, and WXKS-AM, which reaches a height of 5,000 watts.
WKOX will likely be able to reach 50,000 watts by August, station officials said yesterday."

Huh? Did you forget we were attacked on 9/11? Obviously you have. If our brave men and women don't believe the war is just, why do so many of them re-enlist? Why has the military continued to acheive its enlistment goals month after month? Next time you see a soldier thank him or her for your freedom you miserable slime of shit liberal!

Hey, Right On, did you forget that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11? This war was waged and continues to be waged so the rich can get richer. Halliburton stock has just about tripled it's value and Exon/Mobil have reported record breaking profits each quarter since this war began! People re-enlist because they've been brainwahsed by our chickenhawk president, and the his media puppets at fox news.
