WKOX (1200 AM) and WXKS (1430 AM) out of Boston are saying, "Vaya con Dios, Darwin, Sheehan, Zinn, Chomsky, a tree, or whatever" to Air America Radio as well as the Jones Radio Network, as those Clear Channel-owned sister stations are switching to a Spanish format. Not only that, they're considering boosting the wattage of both stations to 50,000 from 10,000 and 5,000 respectively.

A member of the Air America Boston messageboard
was told by a Clear Channel receptionist that
the format will end on Dec 22 (not sure if
they're going all-Christmas at that point or
are-you-ready-to-rumba...)

My source is now hearing it could happen (format change) on Dec 20 or 21.
