Al Franken: search the church! ("missing" ballots)

Taking sacrilege to new depths, Minnesota Senate candidate Al Franken is demanding that a church be searched for supposedly missing ballots.

What a sleaze:

The Al Franken campaign is demanding the Minnesota Secretary of State oversee an "immediate and intensive search" for a lost envelope in November’s election.

The lost envelope contains 133 ballots from Minneapolis Ward 3, Precinct 1...

The Franken campaign is asking for the following measures to be taken in the search for missing ballots:

* Interview every person who worked at the precinct on Election Day, every person who had a role in setting up or cleaning up at the church that served as a polling place, and every person who touched or transported the ballots either on Election Day or at any point between then and now.

* Conduct a systematic forensic search of the church that served as a polling place, any vehicle used to transport ballots or other elections materials, the warehouse where the ballots were stored...

No word is provided on whether the church is regular or other, but in the case of the first I wouldn't be surprised if Franken wants the priests and nuns to be frisked for hidden ballots. In the case of the latter, I don't know exactly what those people call their leaders, but imagine something similar.
