It's been a while since we discussed Al Franken here, but today is his big day as a court in Wisconsin or whatever state he's from has ruled in his favor, rejecting Norm Coleman's attempt to get the election decided for him (link). Per the three judges:
"The overwhelming weight of the evidence indicates that the Nov. 4, 2008, election was conducted fairly, impartially and accurately... [Franken] received the highest number of votes legally cast... [and] is therefore entitled to receive the certificate of election."
According to someone, Coleman doesn't stand much of a chance on appeal (link).
And, that's all for the best, and I welcome our new DFL overlords. In fact, I'm going to get one of those DVRs or whatever so I can record Al Franken's drunken 3am chair throwing performaces live on CSPAN which I'll then upload to Youtube.
