Al Franken, Pride of the Senate, asks Sotomayor about Perry Mason

The new Pride of the Senate - Stuart Smalley aka Al Franken - wasted almost two minutes at the Sonia Sotomayor confirmation hearing asking her what was her favorite Perry Mason episode. No, really, see the video below. At least he's not (yet) throwing chairs, right?

There are a lot of subjects that a non-lawyer could ask her about, such as the fact that she was on the board of the far-left racial power group described here. Or, the fact that another far-left racial power group she was a member of gave an award to someone who'd proposed genocide. No, really.

Instead of asking about that, Franken just went for the yucks.
