There is absolutely nothing going on, so, via this comes the ever-so-enthralling news that quite-possibly-insane far-left yakker Mike Malloy has now joined his Air America co-horts on XM Satellite Radio's 167, aka "The Very Special Channel". I wonder what someone like, say, FDR, would have thought of their description of him:
Generally speaking, he is a traditional Democrat working to return the Democratic Party to its historic liberal roots.
Of course, in order to get people to actually listen to what they call the "Air America" channel they had to bring in someone who's not even on that network - Ed Schultz - to bring in the few who probably listen.
One wonders what no-doubt-meat-eating Big Dumb Ed thinks of sharing a channel with "Go Vegan with Bob Linden":
Linden hopes to connect the dots between going vegan and all aspects of the peace, social justice, and environmental movements, asking listeners to add "speciesism" to that objectionable list of struggles that includes "racism" and "sexism".
He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

This site will be offering limited live-blogging of Mike Malloy's return to the radio waves, assuming that I can get their streaming to work.
UPDATE: After just a few minutes of listening, Malloy has already unearthed some gems, like:
[These Republicans] are all predators... they will grab your [list of family members] and try to do them.

What if you were sitting in a Hollywood donut shop at 3am when you asked a fellow customer to pass the sugar and they replied:
"Yes. We should get this country back in the hands of people who do not HATE America-- Republicans, conservatives, right-wingers, these religious, greedy people who hate this country. They want to turn this country into some kind of fascist theocracy. If my program has any point of view, it is to see this country get back in the hands of people who love this country, who respect the planet, who believe there is a better way to do things than just clubbing people into submission. We don't have a real "mission" on my program. But there's a part of me that believes that people can still redeem themselves. We can still find a way out of this fucking mess. Because if we don't, then surely, the human race's time is over. And this hell on me, because I have kids. I have grandkids and a two year old and my interest in the future is deep and abiding."

Via this comes this video of fired Air America Radio host Mike Malloy propounding on 9/11 conspiracy theories out in the woods:
Enjoy, truthseekers.

Ray: You were asking for a conservative or a bush supporter to call so I just thought I'd call. This isn't the first time Malloy has "joked" like this; see "Mike Malloy advocates violence against blogger".
Mike [Malloy]: Well, thanks. Have a great day. What are you calling about?
Ray: Well, I support the president and I'm thankful there's a conservative in the white house during these times when terrorists want to kill us because we're not Muslim.
Mike: Wow. Is that why they hate us? Because we're not Muslims?
...Ray: Don't you think we should get them before they get us?
Mike: Oh yeah, that makes sense. Let's go kill... I'll tell you what. Where do you live? You live in New Jersey, Ray?
Ray: Yeah, I live in..
Mike: Are there any Muslims in New Jersey?
Ray: I'm sure that there are.
Mike: Okay, why don't you find some and kill them?
Ray: I'm in the northeast area in New Jersey.
Mike: Frankly I don't care where you live in New Jersey. I'm just saying, next time you see a Muslim why not blow, why not kill him?

That's the question that liberals throughout the land are asking themselves today with the sad news that Air America Radio's late night host Mike Malloy has been fired. What clearer evidence do we need other than the gloating from the "Radio Equalizer"?
Current speculation from many in the liberal community is that Karl Rove and George Bush put pressure on Clear Channel to only put Air America on lower-wattage stations, leading to a vicious cycle of lower ratings. Together with talking up Al Franken leading to him being paid more, this led to the "financial decision" that Malloy says this was on his website.
But, AAR co-founder Sheldon Drobny has a different take:
He is the lowest paid of all the regular hosts on AAR and they put him in an awful time slot, 10pm-1am ET... I suspect Malloy's termination was more about personality than performance. It certainly was not about money...
"Personality"? Or... something else?
Sign the petition to bring Malloy back, save off the comments here before "they" delete them, and stay tuned to DU for all the late-breaking details on this conspiracy by the flying monkey right and the Bush crime family to silence America's leading truthseeker.
UPDATE: In comments, "Raccoon Radio" links to the quite curious piece "Air America Network in Turmoil". Of course, that article raises additional questions. Is Cliff Kincaid a Rove operative? Or... could he in fact be a Soros operative? What of Malloy himself? Should we assume complete innocence on his part? What if he is in fact an operative of the shadow government? Are there lists of truthseekers compiled somewhere? How do you know that Mike Malloy is not a turncoat to the cause? Could Rove operatives have arranged for former Lyndon LaRouche associate Webster Griffin Tarpley to appear on this show, then have a feigned "firing" by George Soros in order to make Malloy into a "martyr" of some sort in order to draw true truthseekers into a trap?

The purpose of the forum is educate the public and to put pressure on the Party Leadership to sign-on to the impeachment resolution introduced by Representative John Conyers. One of the stars of the Progressive Caucus is the odious Jackie Goldberg, who in her youth was a member of the Policy Committee for a World Communist Youth Festival.

This is a murder trip, this is murder...Unfortunately, Malloy also gets something right. He mentioned "war pornography", which is an apparent reference to the site nowthatsfuckedup.com. Members of the U.S. military could obtain access to that site's "wives/girlfriends" pictures in exchange for pictures of victims of the Iraq war.
...This is not a war. There is nothing honorable. Do you agree with me on that? There is nothing honorable about what we’re doing. There is no honor here. There is no honor for the United States, there is no honor for our troops, there is no honor for the military leadership, there is no honor here in what we’re doing in Iraq. None. None. Every—not a bit...

Mike Malloy is the canary in the political coalmine -- the bane of the Bush administration and of hypocrites of all stripes. He is a liberal gadfly whose light shines so brightly on the truth that even Air America struggles to keep him hidden under its late-night barrel. Far from being a "loose liberal cannon," Malloy has a solid background of writing, reporting, editing and broadcasting. He is a former news writer and editor for both CNN and CNN-international, and a former publisher of Atlanta's Creative Loafing newspaper. Is she serious? Yes, I'm afraid so.
...[Why does AAR hide his light under a bushel basket?] Because he is so damn good, that's why. Because the truth Malloy tells is raw, straightforward, stripped of all spin -- every word shoved right in the faces of those who have seized power to destroy the democratic safeguards of the U.S. Constitution, to steal elections, to abandon society's most vulnerable, and to slaughter their own citizens as a pretext for war. But even Air America knows that not everybody can handle the truth, especially in prime time. Malloy can be heard each night on Air America affiliate stations, the Internet, and on XM Satellite Radio, Channel 167. Missed programs are available at the White Rose Society website.
Each night, Malloy exposes the Bush administration for what it is -- a murderous, evil, lying, fascist regime. Each night, I am amazed that he has somehow managed to slip through enemy lines yet again to shout truth to power. He asks no quarter, and gives none, regardless of the consequences...

If we conducted a poll in our time/space continuum, about 99.9995% of respondents would say "No".
However, in Alternate Dimention DUmmie, the current results are 279 votes for "Yes", a whopping total of 88% of respondents.
Only 12 votes for "No", for just 4%.
In related Malloy news, he received an email invitation to CPAC and responded thusly:
"Um . . . you're kidding, right? Why would I have any desire whatsoever to attend or participate in a convocation of neo-Nazis????? I had two uncles fight against you [expletive] in WW2. And, now, surprise! surprise! here you all are on US soil. Kindly get the [expletive] off my email. Thanks."
But, wait, there's more. Here's something Mike or his keepers posted on his blog (via this):
The Bush Crime Family was flooding the US with horrific images of Saddam's nuclear bombs falling on major American cities, evil Arabs dumping poisons, toxins, bacteria, viruses and copies of the Koran into our food supplies, our drinking water, our gene pool. Bush House Negro Colin Powell was addressing the UN with all sorts of fantastic scenarios of anthrax-laden missile launchers hidden in groves of palm trees. The piercingly evil Michael Chertoff was at the Justice Department clearing out career attorneys who still believed the US Constitution meant something.
Is "liberalism" just a mental disorder?

- I nominate him to immediately replace Springer! On the other side:
- They should bump Springer to Franken's time slot and leave Mike in the AM
- He said the other night, on the air, in response to a caller, that soon his scheduling on XM is going to change. He didn't elaborate, but I am guessing the contract XM has with Colmes is about up, or will be changed, so Mike can be carried live. YAY!!
- Most brilliant Talk Show Host in the US
- I'm still deciding how I feel about the left's version of hate radio.
- I'm all for speaking truth to power, but does Mike really have to say he hates these people?
- I suspect a lot of that "anger" is an act.

Air America host Mike Malloy has finally come even more unhinged, advocating violence against a blogger from BlogsForBush (Mark Noonan) and, presumably, against others who disagree with him:
MALLOY: ...but when they do make these sweeping uh... umm... statements about Democrats better watch out, I think they should be responded to, the way Hunter responded to Peggy Noonan's little boy here... uh just beat the crap out of them. If you can do it with the pen, fine. If you need to do it with the sword, that's ok, too... uhhh... you know it's said that the pen is mightier than the sword. alright, alright, that's fine.
You can listen to him saying this here, and it was apparently caused by this post.
In the past, the Lider of B4B and/or his brother were involved in some altercation with union thugs, so they aren't strangers to this type of stuff. And, said brother's site at one time featured Our Leader's face as its background. (His opinion on the current fracas here.)
And, this blogger has referred to BlogsForBush as Kool-Aid Central many times, and has even had innocuous comments deleted by Mark Noonan. I am indeed an enemy of whatever Kool Aid-fueled state they're in.
However, in this case it's important for everyone to stand against such incitements of violence. And, it's also important to get the word out about this. Everytime you see MSM mention of Bill Bennett's remarks, or of Air America Radio itself, send them links to Malloy's audio.
UPDATE: I deleted the first comment. You might have seen that same comment on other sites that mention Mike Malloy: it pitches a forthcoming book on someone with that same name, but who is not the same MM as is mentioned above. I suspect this is a bot, and I encourage anyone else who's seen that message to delete it.

1000+ poster "Ladyhawk" offers us "I'm having second thoughts about certain left-wing radio personalities":
I stopped listening to Randi Rhodes some time ago because I couldn't stomach the way she treated her callers. Now I'm starting to think Mike Malloy is engendering hatred in his listeners. I know I was feeling it.
And, no one can feel hate like a sensitive "liberal".
Mike Malloy is right on a lot of the issues, but he is full of hatred... So, do you agree? If not, why is Mike's hatred okay while Limbaugh's is not?
The general consensus appears to be that Malloy is indeed a spewer of hate, but at least he doesn't lie.

The first time I heard Air America Radio's looniest host, Mike Malloy, was back in February.
Someone named "Dave Pierre" appears to have heard Mad Mikey for the first time on Friday Sep. 2, and he's got quotes. Here's one about America's own beloved First Lady, Laura Bush:
"A murderer herself. Somebody getting killed, one of her former boyfriends, in a drunken stupor, being behind the wheel of a car ... So here's Laura Bush, another killer. This Bush family. In order to get in the Bush family, it's like the way it used to be in order to get into certain gangs in Chicago. You had to kill somebody. And once you killed somebody, you're part of the gang. Well, Laura, Laura Bush is apparently that way. She murdered somebody in a car wreck, so she's in the gang. She's part of the gang."
He also has some Bush Crime Family quotes, and this:
"I think the Bush crime family wanted people to die. They wanted these horrible images of dying brown (?) people; and riots, so they could get a few of those started, and some fires maybe ... Let's throw in some rape. How about a little cannibalism."
Then, this cri de coeur from Wacky Mikey:
"I hope you people who listen to this program around the world on the internet, I hope you will call your local newspapers, I hope you will call your government agencies, I wish you would implore your governments to break off diplomatic relations with the United States or send an army over here to liberate us. We are under the control of devils and demons and dictators."
Anyone else think Malloy is projecting?

I only listen to Mikey sporadically for entertainment purposes, so I don't know if he's frothed all over this story: "Bush Crime Family Conspiracy". I would like to make it perfectly clear to any other VRWC members that I'm only providing that link for entertainment purposes and in the hope that Mike Malloy could discredit himself even more by discussing yet another wild-eyed conspiracy theory. I do not believe anything at that link. In fact, I only read the first few paragraphs before I couldn't continue because I was laughing so hard. That's really funny stuff, and I don't believe a word of it.

...the music started out good, then this screaming liberal came on... he kept saying 'son of a bitches'... I said that a lot... my wife told me I shouldn't say that so much... I sound very strident... I can only imagine what it must be like for people who are hearing the show for the first time...Then, almost in the next breath:
...what's wrong with all you Republican pigs who are old enough to have piglets who can go over and kill towel-heads?...Does Gov. Dr. Howard Dean M.D. need an assistant?
Posted at 11:11 PM | Comments (1)
Mike Malloy... was ranting about Bush and Ridge and the terror colors and Bush's poll numbers, etc... well, he just starts going off, challenging Right-wingers to deal with the orchestration going on and before I know it, he's saying something about the people who orchestrated 9/11 and then he says that it wasn't an airliner that went into the Pentagon... he said it, point blank, on nationally syndicated radio... he obviously knows... I would encourage all truthers to contact Mike or post on his message board and encourage him to speak more about 9/11...Truthseekers to keyboards! Hopefully Mike will tell us all he knows so we can stop this fascist dictatorship for blood and oil! Of course, he's said things like this before.
I listen to Air America, and hear how the speakers are all so amazed at the behavior of the Neo-Cons. They can't seem to get inside their heads. No matter, someone already solved the puzzle. Wilhelm Reich, the great German Jewish Atheist(Austrian?) psychiatrist who lived in the Nazi era, hit the nail on the head with his pamplet Mass Psychology of Fascism, which analyzed the fascist psyche, broke it down...Whoa! My truthseeker certainly perked up its ears about that last bit. Unfortunately, one would think that if this wasn't just BS there'd be more search results from the usual suspects, but I think that last is just a typical Air America listener imagining things.
Whether Swaggert and his streetwalkers, or Tammy Faye's husband, or Guckert, the male prostitute with top journalist clearance for White House press conferences, or Jim West, the pedophile conservative, or Ann Coulter, with her preference for casual sex with bar room aquaintances...

Air America's looniest talk show host, Mike Malloy, recently was selected as the N.Y. Air Awards' "Best Talk Show".
The NYAA is given out by the... March of Dimes. I believe they selected him based on comic and entertainment value and not because they necessarily agree with LIHOP or Malloy's stance on the Bush Crime Family.
Here's who he beat:
Curtis Sliwa and Ron Kuby (The former leans right, the latter leans way far left. Kuby, together with William Kunstler, invented Colin Ferguson's "black rage" defense and America thanks them for that gift to society.)
Joan Hamburg ("Exciting Information And Consumer Advice". Probably of the far left variety, although as we've never heard of her before we aren't sure.)
Karen Hunter & Steve Malzberg (He leans right, she wrote a book on Al Sharpton.)
For those not keeping score, that's five or six "liberals" vs. two conservatives. And, half of the nominees were from Air America. Although I'm not familiar with NYC talk radio, I have to believe there's a larger and more balanced pool to select from.

...Wednesday night, [Mike] Malloy reported that the Michigan legislature had passed a bill that would enable health care providers to refuse to perform a medical service if doing so was contrary to their religious convictions. Or as Malloy put it, "There is a law working its way through the Michigan legislature if doctors or other health care providers cannot be disciplined or sue if they refuse to treat gay patients…."* Malloy claimed that Michigan Catholics proposed the bill "to kill and destroy gay people."
...But Malloy had to rewind himself on Thursday night's show, acknowledging that his hot news tip was a year old and the proposed legislation is stalled in a Senate committee...

There's enough MP3s of Mike Malloy to fill your iPod to the brim with wackiness over here. Could someone listen to the "best of" ones at the bottom of the page and let me know the wackiest things he says?
"Cell Whitman" over at DU recommends "Brother Sky Blue".

I'll be shortly covering that magic live in this post starting at 10pm Pacific.
Rather than covering the wacky things they say, to save bandwith and typing I'll be concentrating on the normal things they say.
Ward Churchill to be on the show after 11pm Pacific, stay tuned truthseekers.
WC: [the attacks on me] are being coordinated... We're free to talk as long as there's no one to listen...
WC has no second thoughts on his 9/11 essay. He might have explained some things better...
MM returns to his favorite conspiracy theory
WC, slightly less loony than MM, blames our support for the Mujahideen via training, but doesn't echo MM's conspiracy theories. He does admit it's possible, but then again so does your blogger.
WC thinks it's racist to assume that brown people couldn't mount 9/11 all by themselves.
WC: "until I have concrete evidence indicating some form of conspiracy, I'll hold that in abeyance..."
WC: "I'm more concerned about what the Clinton crime family did [with sanctions] than the Bush crime family..."
MM is starting to stumble and fumble. It was probably the bit about racism and Clinton that did it...
MM is now doing his Bobbie Dooley impersonation as WC tells us what we need to do to be safe again...
WC says his professorship is safe and there's little "they" can do besides faking criminal charges against him... he says local police and federal agents have surveilled him throughout most of his adult life, so that's the best "prophylactic" against such a fake charge...
Thankfully, like me and Mike, WC has nothing better to do so he'll be back after the break...
MM - without making a "value judgment" - asks WC a question about his very anti-U.S. statements, such as wishing that the U.S. government would disappear...
WC says he's more like a bedrock conservative in a constitutional sense...
MM has gone strangely silent...
WC has changed the minds of even "rednecks" to his view point...
WC: the use of the word "fascism" is not just rhetorical, all the parts of fascism are present...
Just four more minutes of WC, after the break. Fasten your seatbelts, truthseekers...
MM: how should people educate themselves in order to avoid the slide to fascism, aside from the academic context?
WC: suggests, among other things, comic books as education tools... WC says those who organize "peace" meetings and the like should get over themselves and stop with the 15 minute recitation of rules at the beginnings of meetings: "no loud talking, no smoking, etc."
MM: thinks there will be a House or Senate resolution calling WC one of Satan's minions... what's next for WC?
...
MM: Ward, it's been very... interesting talking to you... take care.

With the other Air America DJs, you need to listen to a few minutes of their shows before they say something stupid or shocking.
On the other hand, Mike Malloy is the fruitiest, most densely-packed fruitcake around. I.e., take a few hundred pounds of fruitcakes and then expose them to tremendous pressure so they shrink to the size of just one mini-fruitcake that weighs a ton.
In other words, there's no empty air on the Mike Malloy show. It's like a gold mine, a black hole of nutty radio.
Tonight, he went off on the NYT article "9/11 Report Cites Many Warnings About Hijackings". Shocking, yes. However, Malloy cranked it up just a tiny notch.
Quoting Mike Malloy verbatim:
"Let me go on the record. They [i.e., Bush and his administration and/or "the Bush crime family" --LW] were complicit in the murder of 3000 people in the United States."
[later:]
"They - the Bush crime family - have committed an act of war against the United States..."
[later:]
"They wanted this to happen if they didn't engineer it to begin with."
I mean, I could go on except I'd probably be here typing for the next four hours.
On second thought, perhaps with Mike Malloy my goal should be different from that I use with the other Air America DJs. Perhaps what I should do instead is note the non-nutty things he says. But, if I did that, how would I fill this category?
UPDATE: Mark your calendars: on Friday, February 12, 2005 Malloy's special guest will be Ward Churchill...

Mike Malloy - Air America's forgotten and never-heard-of host - earns his own category with this bit from just minutes ago on 1150AM:
"Sometimes I wish Jesus was sitting in heaven with this God creature taking notes... what Bush, and Hitler,.. and Pinochet,... and Newt Gingrich were doing..."
"...[imitates born-again Christians talking about the Left Behind series...]"
"...The pile of dead bodies is getting high enough that the rapture is going to come and rescue [we born-agains]..."
He said some wacky things earlier but I didn't jot it down. He also treated us to a several-seconds-long maniacal laugh that made him sound like he was insane(er).
UPDATE: Whoa boy! He thinks Bush was involved in 9/11 in order to initiate fascism. He's not just one of the "Bush Knew!" types, he's certain that Bush was involved somehow.
While it's certainly possible that Bush was involved or knew about 9/11 beforehand, and it's possible that if he wasn't involved he decided to make lemonade out of lemons, it's also possible that none of that is true. Mike Who? doesn't allow for the latter possibilities.
